The Science Buskers is a champion for science, dedicated to expanding scientific literacy, effective STEM education and scientific research. We are focused on promoting the understanding and appreciation of science and the vital role it plays in human advancement as well as empowering communities to create lasting solutions to the grand challenges.
Since 2013, the Science Buskers has conveyed the excitement of science and research directly to children in schools as well as members of the general public through travelling exhibitions and science education competitions.
In September 2013, Knowledge Chikundi, an undergraduate student in the department of chemistry at the University of Zimbabwe worked with the University and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to start a program where university students would design and conduct exciting, hands-on STEM activities in local primary and high schools. The program, under the START Science Project, started with two schools in Harare.
